The LSU football team currently boasts one of the top recruiting classes in the country, although it’s still early in the recruiting cycle, leaving room for changes. So far, the Tigers have secured 11 commitments, including two five-star prospects. However, they recently lost a commitment from another five-star recruit, wide receiver Dakorien Moore.
Moore is not only one of the top wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class but also one of the top players overall. He was committed to LSU but announced on Twitter that he would be choosing a different school.
“I want to express my sincere gratitude to Coach Kelly and the entire LSU community for their tremendous support of my family and me,” Moore said in a tweet. “I am incredibly blessed and deeply appreciative of the opportunity the coaching staff has given me to play football at the collegiate level. After careful and extensive consideration, my family and I have decided that it is in my best interest to decommit from LSU. I want to emphasize that despite this decision, I will not be considering any recruitment offers. I will always hold love for the entire LSU family; the culture there is truly unmatched. Thank you all for your unwavering love and support.”
Moore’s decommitment means he will now choose between schools he had previously considered before committing to LSU, without entertaining new offers.
As a five-star prospect according to 247Sports, Moore is the number three overall player in the 2025 class, the top wide receiver, and the top player in Texas. He currently attends Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas.
With Moore back on the market, he faces another big decision. Ohio State and Texas fans have reason to be excited about his decommitment. Experts predict Moore might end up at Texas, especially since the Longhorns recently had two wide receivers drafted early and staying in Texas would keep him close to home.
Ohio State is also a strong contender for any wide receiver recruit, given their recent history of producing NFL-caliber talent and maintaining one of the best receiving corps in the country.
Dakorien Moore, one of the most coveted recruits in the 2025 class, is no longer committed to LSU and is now reconsidering his options.
