In less than a year, teams will infuse their rosters with fresh talent through the 2025 NFL Draft. Currently, Georgia Bulldogs’ star quarterback Carson Beck is a strong contender for the top pick.
Carson Beck arrived at the University of Georgia with high expectations as a four-star recruit but had to wait behind established quarterbacks Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels in his first two seasons. Although he showed promise in limited play during 2022, it took longer than anticipated for Beck to become the Bulldogs’ starting quarterback.
During this period, Beck utilized the time to develop his skills, which paid off with a breakout season in 2023. He completed an impressive 72.4% of his passes, amassing 3,941 yards, 24 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. While he might lack the creative flair of some other top QB prospects, Beck excels with his accuracy, processing ability, and arm strength.
Beck’s anticipation, situational precision, and versatility both in the shotgun and under center suggest he could become a franchise quarterback who can elevate an NFL team from within the system. Despite having just one year as a full-time starter, he appears to be a natural fit for the next level.
NFL teams are already evaluating Beck’s potential fit for their rosters. Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports has highlighted why Beck could be a top pick. According to a recent ESPN report, the New England Patriots have a 21.9 percent chance of securing the number one pick and potentially selecting Beck.
Whether the Bulldogs’ star quarterback will indeed become the number one pick remains to be seen. However, NFL teams will be closely monitoring his progress.
