ICYM: Coach Sirianni sends shockwave to fans as LB is been named

Nakobe Dean makes list of seven NFL players set for a breakout season

The Philadelphia Eagles had been using former All-Pro linebacker Devin White and Zack Baun as their starting linebackers throughout most of training camp for their revamped defense. However, in just two weeks, it seems that the Eagles have shifted gears. With White sidelined due to a foot injury and absent from Friday’s game, the Eagles are now set to start Nakobe Dean and Baun as their main linebackers against the Green Bay Packers. White didn’t even travel to Brazil with the team. With Dean stepping up to seemingly take White’s spot, the question arises whether the Eagles still see White as part of their roster for the rest of the season. Dean has certainly earned his place, with reports from practice indicating that the third-year linebacker has been the standout player at his position in recent weeks. This was evident in his strong preseason performance against the Baltimore Ravens and during joint practices with the New England Patriots. As the Eagles prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Packers, they are aware that the linebacker position remains a weak point. However, this could change significantly if Philadelphia can fully assess Dean’s potential, especially if he outperforms a veteran like White.
