BREAKING: Spurs reportedly confirm another massive signing

On October 13, the Spurs announced they had released Nathan Mensah, leaving them with 20 players under contract, just one below the offseason limit.

On September 28, it was reported that free agent big man Nathan Mensah had joined the Spurs’ training camp roster. The 26-year-old center played 25 games for the Hornets last season on a two-way contract before being waived in March, averaging 1.3 points and 2.6 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.

Mensah signed an Exhibit 10 contract with Charlotte after going undrafted out of San Diego State and participated in their training camp but was waived before the season began.

Earlier this month, the Austin Spurs acquired Mensah’s G League rights in a four-team trade. If he spends at least 60 days with Austin under an Exhibit 10 deal, he would be eligible for a bonus of up to $77.5K. The Spurs had recently waived Jameer Nelson Jr., which opened a spot on their 21-man roster for Mensah.
