The Georgia Bulldogs are focused on their Week 8 showdown against the Texas Longhorns, but they are also keeping an eye on their future roster.
Head coach Kirby Smart is working on bolstering his defense, targeting top 2025 recruits. One key player on their radar is five-star defensive lineman Elijah Griffin, who recently visited Athens for Georgia’s 41-31 win over Mississippi State.
Griffin, the nation’s top defensive lineman and the sixth-ranked overall player in the 2025 class according to On3’s Industry Rankings, is expected to announce his commitment on October 18. On3.com’s Steve Wiltfong reported that Georgia is heavily favored to land Griffin, with a 95.5% chance according to their projections.
I will be announcing my commitment on FRIDAY OCTOBER 18th at 1:20pm at Savannah Christian Preparatory School! Eckburg Gym!! #raidernation🏴☠️🏴☠️

Although Miami and USC are still in the running, Georgia’s proximity, player development, and strong relationship with Griffin have put them in the lead. Griffin’s NIL value is estimated at $358,000. The Bulldogs are also the favorites to secure another five-star defensive lineman, Justus Terry.
