SHOCKING…..Georgia Football’s Top Sack Leader Undergoes Surgery Ahead of Crucial Season

Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman Gabe Harris recently underwent surgery, as reported by UGASports. Harris shared a photo on social media showing his left arm in a sling.

Despite recording just two sacks in 2024, Harris is Georgia’s top returning sack producer following the departures of seven of the team’s eight leading pass rushers via the NFL Draft or transfer portal. He also tallied 14 tackles last season and is expected to be a key contributor at defensive end and outside linebacker in 2025. Harris played the latter part of the 2024 season with a brace on his left shoulder.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound defender is likely to miss time this spring, leaving Georgia in need of young players to step up along the defensive line. The Bulldogs return only 21.6% of their sack production from last season (eight of 37 sacks), making Harris’ recovery crucial for the 2025 campaign.

Additionally, Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling and tight end Colton Heinrich also recently underwent surgery. It is common for several UGA players to have procedures following the conclusion of the season.
