The 13th-ranked Auburn Tigers are set to resume play tomorrow as they welcome the 22nd-ranked Ole Miss Rebels to Neville Arena.
What insights did Auburn forward Jaylin Williams share in anticipation of the upcoming game?
Williams discussed his ability to consistently perform at a high level during Auburn’s recent string of victories.
“I’ve been putting in extra effort, taking additional shots, and dedicating time to my game,” remarked Williams. “Teams have been leaving me open when I enter the game, allowing me to capitalize on those opportunities and play my usual style.”
Williams also shared thoughts on facing his longtime teammate, Allen Flanigan, in the upcoming matchup.
Williams expressed anticipation for the upcoming game against Ole Miss, emphasizing the significance of reuniting with his former teammate Allen Flanigan and Coach Wes Flanigan.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him. It’s been a while since I caught up with him or Coach Flan (Wes Flanigan),” Williams stated. “Coach Flan played a pivotal role in getting me to Auburn, and I’m grateful for the opportunity he provided.”
In preparation for the game, Williams shared insights gained from studying Ole Miss through film analysis.
“I’ve observed Jaemyn Brakefield’s impressive performance as a four-man,” Williams noted. “Facing a dominant player like him in that position is a challenge, and we haven’t encountered many such players in recent games. Their trio of guards is highly productive, and our strategy is to contain them while forcing other players to make plays outside their comfort zone.”
The tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT. Viewers can catch the action on SEC Network, and the Auburn Sports Network broadcast is available for streaming on the Auburn Athletics App.
