Positive recruiting news continues to pour in for Alabama. Alex Asparuhov, a punter from the 2025 class, has committed to the Crimson Tide. The Fresno, California native announced his decision on Twitter/X Saturday afternoon. He had offers from Florida and Oklahoma.
Currently in Tuscaloosa for an official visit, Asparuhov is ranked as the No. 3 punter in the 2025 class by Kohl’s Kicking. Their experts describe him as “possibly the most fundamentally sound punter in the 2025 class.”
At the Underclassman Challenge, Asparuhov scored 109.71 points, showcasing exceptional control and repeatability when in rhythm. Despite the cold 40-degree weather in December 2023, he scored over 109 points. He also made significant progress at the Western Showcase Camp earlier in the year, earning a 5.0-star rating as a punter and a 4.5-star rating as a kicker.
Asparuhov’s impressive performance includes scoring 110.2 points in punting, 6 of 15 points on field goals, and 103.1 points on kick-offs. His average was 39.5 yards per punt at his first Kohl’s ranking event during the 2022 Kohl’s California Winter Showcase Camp. Kohl’s Kicking experts note that Asparuhov is advanced for his age and has the potential to be a Division 1 punter, making him an exciting prospect to watch this spring and summer.
