Breaking: Bills set to sign top-star wide receiver

The Buffalo Bills have made significant changes to their roster due to limited cap space, releasing veterans, allowing Gabe Davis to leave in free agency, and trading Stefon Diggs. While the team started the season strong, the last two weeks have been rough, especially for the offense and receiving corps.

It’s still early in the season, and there’s no need to panic. The AFC, particularly the AFC East, isn’t very strong. Despite their 3-2 record, the Bills can still control their destiny with a win over the Jets in Week 6. However, the lack of cap space is hampering their ability to bring in the type of talent that could help them compete for the #1 seed.

After their Week 5 loss to the Texans, the absence of Khalil Shakir due to injury was noticeable. Shakir has been a dependable target for Josh Allen in key situations. The Bills had hoped that offseason acquisition Curtis Samuel could step up alongside Shakir, but his impact has been limited, possibly due to a turf toe injury that has resurfaced. Samuel is now back on the injury report, which may have contributed to his struggles against the Texans.

Two potential trade targets that Bills fans have been eyeing are Davante Adams, who requested a trade from the Raiders, and Amari Cooper from the Browns. Adams would be ideal but is too expensive, while Cooper is a cheaper option but has had his own issues this season.

The team could also explore free agent Hunter Renfrow, whose route-running abilities are similar to former Bills receivers Cole Beasley and John Brown. Renfrow could be a great fit for Allen, but there’s uncertainty as to why he remains unsigned. At 28, he’s still in his prime and could be a valuable addition if willing to sign a one-year deal at the veteran minimum, potentially rejuvenating his career and giving the Bills’ offense a boost.
