Sophomore wide receiver Anthony Evans III, formerly of the Georgia Bulldogs, has announced his transfer to the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
A four-star recruit in the 2023 class, Evans made limited offensive appearances for Georgia but played a pivotal role on special teams. Over two seasons, he recorded 123 yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions, with his standout performance coming against Mississippi State, where he tallied 41 receiving yards and a 52-yard rush. Known for his speed, Evans also served as Georgia’s primary punt returner in 2024.
Evans joins fellow Georgia receivers Michael Jackson III and Rara Thomas in entering the transfer portal this offseason. Unlike Evans, Jackson and Thomas have yet to secure a new team. Notably, Georgia and Mississippi State are set to face off in Week 11 of the 2025 season.
Despite the departures of several receivers to the portal and the 2025 NFL Draft, Georgia has bolstered its roster with key transfers, including No. 4 portal recruit Zachariah Branch (USC), Noah Thomas (Texas A&M), and Micah Bell, the younger brother of Dillon Bell (Vanderbilt).
