The Hurricanes have made a strong impression on LSU CB commit Jaboree Antoine.
Miami hosted New Iberia (La.) Westgate Top247 cornerback Jaboree Antoine for the second time this year over the weekend. Unlike his previous visits, this was an official visit, allowing Antoine, a longtime LSU commit, to fully experience what Miami’s program and the city had to offer both on and off campus.
Antoine is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in Louisiana this cycle and has been a major target for the Hurricanes, who have numerous connections to the state.
Miami is also enhancing its position with elite EDGE Zion Grady.
The Hurricanes have been pursuing Top247 EDGE Zion Grady from Enterprise (Ala.) throughout the year. This weekend marked their third opportunity to host the top-tier pass rusher.
“It was a very fun weekend, very different. I did a lot of new things I’ve never done before,” Grady told InsideTheU. “We went on a boat ride, did a scavenger hunt, and a few other activities.”
Tennessee baseball is set to face Southern Miss in the Knoxville Regional final of the NCAA Tournament.
No. 1 Tennessee will compete against No. 2 Southern Miss in the Knoxville Regional final on Sunday evening at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols need a win to secure their fourth consecutive super regional appearance.
The Golden Eagles defeated No. 3-seed Indiana 15-3 earlier in the day to avoid elimination and advance to the regional final. They must beat Tennessee twice to progress in the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament. A win on Sunday night would lead to a decisive game seven on Monday.
Tennessee is the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament for the second time in program history and the second time in the past three seasons. UT won both the SEC regular season championship and the SEC Tournament title.
The Volunteers are only the third program to earn the No. 1 overall seed twice within a three-year span, joining Florida (2016/2018) and Florida State (2002/2003). They also join a select group that has earned the No. 1 national seed multiple times, becoming just the seventh to do so since the current format began in 1999, alongside Florida, Florida State, Miami, Oregon State, Texas, and UCLA. The No. 1 overall seed has not won the National Championship since FSU did so in 1999.
Tennessee will be playing in its fifth consecutive NCAA regional, tying the longest regional streak in program history (1993-1997). UT has advanced to three straight NCAA super regionals, the longest such streak in program history. It is the only SEC program and one of just four teams nationally (Stanford, Texas, and Virginia) to have appeared in the College World Series in two of the last three seasons.
GoVols247’s Tennessee baseball beat writer Ben McKee is present at Lindsey Nelson for Sunday night’s game between Tennessee (52-11) and Southern Miss (35-22).
