The Michigan football team has gained significant momentum in recruiting, now boasting a top-10 class nationally. Although they had a slow start, their 2025 class is shaping up to be one of the best. New head coach Sherrone Moore has made a strong start, and prospects look even better as Michigan is favored to secure a commitment from four-star cornerback Jayden Sanders.
According to On3’s recruiting predictor, Michigan football has a 93.8% chance of landing Sanders, which would be a significant boost for the Wolverines’ national ranking.
Sanders is a four-star recruit, ranked by 247 Sports as the #215 player in the 2024 class, the #24 cornerback, and the #30 player in Texas. He currently plays for Kilgore High School in Kilgore, Texas.
Michigan is competing with Baylor, Oklahoma State, and SMU for Sanders. Vanderbilt and Texas Tech are also in the mix, but Michigan appears to be in a strong position. Baylor is the next closest contender with a 2.7% chance of securing his commitment.
247 Sports’ Gabe Brooks evaluates Sanders as follows:
“Although his size is unverified, Sanders appears tall and wiry. He is an instinctive playmaker across all three phases of the game, with a strong football pedigree as the son of a former all-conference corner from TCU. A three-sport athlete, Sanders’ experience in basketball and track enhances his functional athleticism on the football field. He has above-the-rim finishing ability in basketball and is productive in all three phases of football, including two special teams touchdowns as a junior. On offense, he is a vertical threat at receiver, and on defense, he is a big-framed corner with potential as a boundary corner or safety. While not a top-end burner, he is fast and difficult to catch from behind. Sanders is a genuine Power Four prospect with the potential to become a difference maker in college and has NFL Draft upside.”
Sanders has a promising future, and Michigan fans are hopeful that he will join the Wolverines.
