The New England Patriots inked Osborn to a one-year deal.
The New England Patriots remained relatively quiet over the past few days, refraining from securing any free agents between Thursday and Saturday. However, they altered their course on Sunday by adding former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn to their roster on a one-year agreement.
Wide receiver K.J. Osborn has been signed for one year, valued at $4 million.
Bernd Buchmasser commented that although Osborn might not serve as the primary wide receiver option, his inclusion is anticipated to bolster the team’s wide receiver corps in 2024. He is regarded as a consistent complementary asset who is expected to carve out a significant role, providing additional experience to what could potentially be a youthful group. Grade: B+
Brian Hines observed that Osborn has proven himself as a dependable WR3 within a similar offensive scheme during his tenure with the Vikings. It is anticipated that he will assume a similar role in New England, offering reliability and toughness as a receiver capable of playing both inside and outside. Grade: B
On January 14th, 2012, at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, the 49ers found themselves in a crucial moment with only 14 seconds left on the clock, trailing by three points on third down. A score was imperative to keep their playoff aspirations alive without resorting to overtime. Meanwhile, the Saints had the opportunity to seal the game with a crucial defensive play.
With Osborn’s addition, the Patriots now boast a total of nine wide receivers on their roster, including Kendrick Bourne, DeMario Douglas, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tyquan Thornton, Jalen Reagor, Kayshon Boutte, Kawaan Baker, and T.J. Luther.
