The Bills have signed defensive end Casey Toohill to a one-year contract, as announced by the team on Tuesday. Additionally, they have confirmed the return of running back Ty Johnson, who has signed a one-year deal.
Toohill, who was chosen by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2020 draft, was waived by Philadelphia during his rookie season. He subsequently signed with the Commanders to complete the year. During his four-year tenure in Washington, Toohill accumulated seven sacks, three fumble recoveries, and a total of 78 tackles. Notably, he achieved a career-high of five sacks in 2023 after starting eight of the 16 games he played for Washington.
Johnson, who spent the previous season with Buffalo and participated in 10 games, showcased an average of 4.4 yards per carry in 2023, along with securing one receiving touchdown. Moreover, he returned eight kickoffs with an average of 20.1 yards per return.
In a separate deal, the Seahawks have reached an agreement with defensive back K’Von Wallace on a one-year contract, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Media. Wallace, aged 26, divided his last season between the Cardinals and the Titans, playing in all 17 games with 12 starts, 10 of which were with Tennessee. Throughout 2023, he amassed 89 tackles, one interception, and deflected six passes. Wallace, initially drafted by the Eagles in the fourth round, has appeared in 62 games with 19 starts over his career, recording 153 tackles, an interception, and eight passes defensed.
