According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Florida State’s 2026 recruiting class is ranked second-best. The Seminoles have secured commitments from three players: four-star wide receivers Darryon Williams and Efrem White, and four-star safety Darryl Bell III.
While some Seminole fans are not yet concerned about the 2026 recruiting class, this is largely due to the Early Signing Period being far off, unless a summer signing period is implemented. Fans often say they won’t worry until players sign their letters of intent, but even then, there’s no guarantee due to the possibility of players entering the transfer portal before even playing.
Head coach Mike Norvell recognizes the importance of recruiting for the 2026 class, as it forms the foundation of the program. Norvell consistently emphasizes building sustainable success for the program’s longevity.
Recently, Norvell’s efforts may be paying off as On3’s Steve Wiltfong and Chad Simmons have predicted Florida State to land five-star quarterback Brady Smigiel from Newbury, California, for the 2026 class. In the 2023 season, Smigiel completed 282 of 479 passes for 4,222 yards, with 52 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Smigiel visited Tallahassee in April and has developed a strong relationship with Norvell and quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz since receiving an offer on January 17, 2023. With current quarterbacks Brock Glenn, Luke Kromenhoek, Trever Jackson, and 2025 four-star commit Tramell Jones Jr., the addition of Smigiel could solidify an exceptional quarterback lineup for Florida State.
