Urgent Update: Young Star of Blazers, 20, Sent to G League for Conditioning
Following surgery for a core muscle injury in early February, Shaedon Sharpe, shooting guard for the Portland Trail Blazers, seems to be nearing his return to the court.
The Blazers have announced that Sharpe has been assigned to their G League team, the Rip City Remix, for conditioning purposes, as revealed on X, previously known as Twitter.

Sharpe underwent successful surgery on February 9, with the team stating he would be re-evaluated after six weeks. As of Sunday, it has been 44 days since the surgery, slightly beyond the projected six-week timeframe.
Sharpe has been absent for 34 consecutive games due to the core muscle injury, with his last game being on January 11 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
According to Sean Highkin of the Rose Garden Report, it’s “unlikely” that Sharpe will participate in any games for the Remix during this assignment.
This assignment serves as part of Sharpe’s rehabilitation process. He will remain in Portland for the week to practice with the Remix instead of joining the Blazers for the initial phase of their two-week, seven-game road trip starting in Houston on Monday.
In his second professional season, Sharpe has averaged 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in 32 appearances.
The Blazers have 11 games left in the 2023-24 season.
