The rich get richer, as the saying goes.
The Miami Dolphins had one of the NFL’s top defensive fronts last season, and they are now bolstering it further.
According to Ian Rapoport’s recent tweet, the Dolphins are signing Calais Campbell for the 2024 NFL Season.
Homecoming: Long-time Pro Bowl DE Calais Campbell, one of the biggest name free agents available, is expected to sign with the #Dolphins, per me and @TomPelissero. Back at home for The U superstar.

Rapoport highlighted that Campbell was one of the most notable free agents remaining, and now he has the chance to make a significant impact on the Dolphins.
This is excellent news for the Dolphins, particularly after their production dipped in the second half of last season. Despite a strong start, they couldn’t maintain their health to significantly impact the AFC playoff race.
Adding a player of Campbell’s caliber is a positive move, given his extensive experience in the league.
Campbell will undoubtedly serve as a leader for the young defenders on the team, and his performance as a 37-year-old will likely inspire them to reach their goals.
The Dolphins needed an extra boost to compete for the AFC East title, and Campbell might provide just that.
However, they’ll still need to contend with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, which will be a challenging task given the strength of these teams in 2024.
If anyone can help the Dolphins advance deeper into the playoffs, Campbell is one of the best options they could have chosen.
