According to Steve Adams of mlbtraderumors.com, Ramirez, who was recently claimed off waivers, will head straight to the big league bullpen as he’s out of minor league options for the year. This move comes less than a month after the Mets initially designated Ramirez for assignment and traded him to the Baltimore Orioles for cash.

Ramirez, who was optioned by the Mets earlier this season before being traded, will now aim to regain his spot in the Mets’ relief corps behind closer Edwin Diaz. He struggled in his brief appearances for the Mets earlier in the season, posting an 11.81 ERA and 2.438 WHIP in three games before moving to the Orioles, where he continued to struggle with an 8.74 ERA.

Meanwhile, Kranick, who hasn’t made an appearance for the Mets in 2024, last played in the 2022 season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Mets acquired him off waivers in January with hopes that he would improve his performance, as he had a 4.30 ERA, 1.77 WHIP, and 13 strikeouts across six minor league games this season. He will now look to refine his skills in the minors, particularly in Triple-A, to potentially contribute to the Mets’ bullpen later on.
