The Jacksonville Jaguars are closely examining one of the top defensive linemen in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Ohio State defensive tackle Michael Hall visited the Jaguars on Friday, as reported by KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson. Hall is expected to be chosen in the second round.
Hall, a former four-star recruit and top-60 high school prospect, played four games as a freshman in 2021 and made two tackles and 0.5 tackles for loss.
Hall, who will turn 21 in June, participated in 12 games and started five in 2022. He made 19 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors.
In 2023, Hall played in 12 games and started seven, notching 24 tackles, two tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks, which earned him Third Team All-Big Ten recognition.
The Jaguars signed veteran defensive tackle Arik Armstead during free agency to join DaVon Hamilton, Roy Robertson-Harris, Adom Gotsis, and Jeremiah Ledbetter in the rotation. With a new defensive coordinator, Ryan Nielsen, and an emphasis on production in the trenches, the Jaguars are focusing on enhancing their defense.
Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke acknowledged in January that the team struggled with running and stopping the run, which is critical in the NFL. Baalke emphasized the need to improve in size, strength, and physicality in the trenches to compete for championships. He acknowledged the team’s existing talent but stressed the importance of improvement.
