According to Brian Dulle of Fox 4, a Missouri man has been accused of stealing over $46,000 worth of equipment from the Miami Dolphins during their wild-card game. The individual facing charges, Joseph Brown Sr., is now subject to a $50,000 cash bond after being charged with a class C felony.

Reportedly, Brown Sr. committed the alleged theft on January 13, coinciding with the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory over the Dolphins in harsh weather conditions to advance to the AFC divisional round. According to court documents cited by WDAF-TV’s Dulle, a Miami representative reported the theft to the police the day after the wild-card game, mentioning a stolen box truck containing team gear and equipment.
The stolen items, valued at $46,376, included various equipment such as media gear in Pelican cases, aqua-colored equipment cases, football gear, cold weather attire, and game film. Following an investigation, detectives identified a vehicle matching Brown’s gray Ford-150 through surveillance footage of the alleged theft. This vehicle was later found with equipment boxes matching those reported missing from the Dolphins.
Brown is currently detained on a $50,000 cash bond. This incident marks the second significant alleged equipment theft in the NFL within the last six months, following a significant loss of equipment by the Chicago Bears in September.
