Newcastle United have been closely pursuing Giorgi Mamardashvili for several weeks, repeatedly submitting offers to secure the Valencia goalkeeper.
Recently, reports indicated that Valencia owner Peter Lim has been demanding over €40 million for Mamardashvili, with some Spanish media suggesting this request was unreasonable.
However, it appears Lim may get his asking price, as new reports claim that Newcastle has made a fresh offer. According to Cope journalist Pedro Morata, Newcastle has submitted a €41 million bid, breaking the €40 million threshold to meet Lim’s demands.
The offer, made through agent Marian Khadour, is now with Valencia. There’s no confirmation yet on whether it will be accepted, but it seems likely this bid should secure the player for Newcastle. If not, it might be time for the Magpies to consider other options.
