Ryan Day, head coach of Ohio State football, and his Buckeyes are currently navigating a crucial offseason that will significantly impact the team’s future. After Ohio State’s loss to eventual champion Michigan last year, there were growing calls for Day’s job security. However, it appears that the Ohio State leadership is standing by Day to guide them towards success in the upcoming season.
Recently, the Ohio State football coaching staff faced a setback with the news that running back coach Tony Alford would be departing to take the same position at Michigan, as reported by Andrew Gould of The Spun.
Now, Day is openly addressing the departure of one of his coaches, especially to a rival team.
“We are in the process of identifying replacements,” Day stated. “We are excited about the candidates we have already identified, and we intend to conduct a thorough search. Fortunately, we are not under pressure to make a hasty decision due to recruiting or transfer portal considerations,” Day added, as reported by Gould.
