The Baltimore Orioles might have up to six players advance to the second phase of All-Star Game voting.
The Orioles improved their standing in the All-Star Game voting results released on Monday, just three days before phase one voting ends.
Voting ends at noon on Thursday. The top two vote-getters at each position and the top six outfielders will move on to phase two, which begins on Sunday.
Phase two voting will determine the starting lineup for the game on July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of the Texas Rangers.
In last week’s voting results, two Orioles led their positions. As of Monday’s update, three Orioles led their positions, with three others in position to advance to phase two.
Catcher Adley Rutschman and shortstop Gunnar Henderson held onto their first-place standings from last week.
Rutschman has 1,638,425 votes, leading Kansas City Royals’ Salvador Perez by about 600,000 votes. Rutschman, an All-Star reserve last season, seems certain to advance to phase two, with the New York Yankees’ Jose Trevino in third place, over one million votes behind.
Henderson, seeking his first All-Star bid at shortstop, is the only player at his position with more than one million votes (1,551,124), with Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr. in second place.
First baseman Ryan Mountcastle moved into first place with 1,409,373 votes. Last week’s leader, Toronto Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr., is now about 100,000 votes behind him.
Third baseman Jordan Westburg remained in second place with 846,352 votes, trailing only Cleveland’s José Ramírez, who has 1,426,755 votes. This would still allow Westburg to advance to the second phase of voting.

Outfielder Anthony Santander held his spot in the top six with 808,100 votes, and rookie Colton Cowser joined him, moving into sixth place with 649,710 votes. They are behind New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Houston’s Kyle Tucker, and Cleveland’s Steven Kwan.
Second baseman Jorge Mateo moved into third place but is 300,000 votes out of second, while designated hitter Ryan O’Hearn remained in fourth place. Outfielder Cedric Mullins is in eighth place.
The Orioles are at home this week facing Cleveland and Texas to end June. They will then travel to Seattle and Oakland, followed by home series against the Chicago Cubs and the New York Yankees leading up to the All-Star Break.
