MAR 1 BARLOW INKS NEW AGREEMENT
Following Marcus Morris’ departure via buyout, the San Antonio Spurs have made a corresponding move.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Dominick Barlow’s two-way contract is being upgraded to a standard deal by the Spurs.

Barlow, 20, has been averaging 4.6 points per game this season. This transition leaves an open two-way spot for the Spurs to fill with a new player. In a related development, the team is set to sign Jamaree Bouyea, as per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

MAR 1 MORRIS REACHES BUYOUT AGREEMENT
The San Antonio Spurs have officially parted ways with Marcus Morris.

The team has announced a buyout agreement with Morris, whom they acquired via trade on Feb. 9.

Morris is now free to join a contender and potentially participate in the postseason.

The Golden State Warriors have extended coach Steve Kerr’s tenure.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Kerr has signed a two-year, $35 million extension, keeping him with the team until the 2025-26 season.

While San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich earns more annually with his five-year, $80 million deal, Kerr holds the record for the highest yearly earnings among coaches who solely coach.

According to the Sports Business Journal, ratings for Spurs games on Bally Sports Southwest have risen by 54 percent compared to last year, despite the team’s 11-44 record leading up to the All-Star Break.

It remains to be seen how much further the ratings will climb once the Spurs start playing more competitive basketball consistently.

A former assistant coach from the San Antonio Spurs is now seeking employment elsewhere.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Brooklyn Nets have fired coach Jacque Vaughn, who played for the Spurs from 2006 to 2009 and coached under Gregg Popovich from 2010 to 2012.

Vaughn, 49, leaves the Nets with a record of 21-33 before the All-Star Break, culminating in a 50-point loss against the Boston Celtics.

FEB 8 SOCHAN ADDED TO RISING STARS ROSTER
The San Antonio Spurs will have additional representation at the All-Star Break next weekend.

The league has announced that Jeremy Sochan will replace the injured Portland Trail Blazers guard Shaedon Sharpe in the Rising Stars Challenge.

The Rising Stars Challenge is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT on Friday, Feb. 16.
