BREAKING: potential Rams trade candidates entering training camp

In 2023, the Los Angeles Rams discovered unexpected production from players like Puka Nacua, Quentin Lake, and Kobie Turner, who, despite being mid-to-late draft picks, played significant roles. As they aim to build another contender in 2024, the Rams need to determine which players to build around and which ones they might part with.

With 10 new players from the draft and additional free agency signings, the Rams could optimize their roster heading into Week 1 through strategic trades. Here are three potential trades they could consider:

1. Joseph Noteboom

Joseph Noteboom, once seen as a promising player for the Rams, was a third-round pick from TCU in 2018. Despite showing potential, injuries and setbacks have hindered his progress. With Alaric Jackson expected to start at left tackle and Rob Havenstein secure on the right, Noteboom might spend 2024 as a costly reserve with a cap hit of $11.6 million. The Rams might consider trading him if another team shows interest, potentially for a Day 3 draft pick.

2. Isaiah Likely

Ravens HC John Harbaugh says TE Isaiah Likely is 'locked in' ahead of 2024 season

Following Tyler Higbee’s significant ACL/MCL injury, the Rams face uncertainty at the tight end position. While they signed veteran Colby Perkins from the Seattle Seahawks, they could still seek additional help. Isaiah Likely of the Baltimore Ravens, heading into his third year, could be a valuable addition. Likely has demonstrated his prowess with 66 catches for 784 yards and eight touchdowns over the past two seasons. His versatility and red zone threat make him a strong candidate to bolster the Rams’ tight end options.

3. Tutu Atwell

Tutu Atwell has highest inaccurate target rate of any WR in NFL

Heading into 2023, it was unclear whether Puka Nacua or Tutu Atwell would have a bigger season. Nacua had a historic rookie season, while Atwell, a second-round pick from Louisville, had a modest year with 39 catches for 483 yards and three touchdowns. Despite his speed, Atwell was a distant third option behind two top wide receivers. With key players returning for 2024 and the possibility of rookie Jordan Whittington emerging, Atwell might find himself expendable if another team makes a suitable offer.

By considering these trades, the Rams could refine their roster and enhance their chances for success in the upcoming season.
