Four-star WR Praises ‘Incredible’ Michigan Visit
June is a bustling month for recruiting, with many recruits visiting Ann Arbor for official visits. Among them was Derek Meadows, a 2025 four-star wide receiver, ranked 62nd in his class and ninth among receivers by the 247Sports composite.
In an interview with Tom Loy of 247Sports, Meadows expressed his admiration for Michigan.
“The visit as a whole was incredible,” Meadows said. “The entire staff did a tremendous job. Everything was a highlight, especially the practice. I got to see the coaches in action, and I love the way coach Bellamy coaches his receivers. He teaches the right things, which is what I need in a coach.”
Meadows met with every coach and reconnected with his old friend, fellow wide receiver I’Marion Stewart.
“My player host was I’Marion Stewart, a long-time friend from back home,” Meadows said. “It was great seeing him again after years and reconnecting. He told me this was the place to be, and there’s no place like it.”
Meadows plans to commit to his future school “probably in September.” Loy reported that Meadows also intends to visit Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, and Alabama before making a decision.
Four-star Edge Reflects on Official Visit
Meadows wasn’t the only 2025 recruit in town; four-star edge Marco Jones also took his official visit, sporting Michigan gear.
This was Jones’ second visit, with his first being in April. Speaking with On3’s EJ Holland, Jones shared his impressions.
“It was awesome,” Jones said. “From the weather to the community aspect. My favorite part was learning about the internships and life after football. The coaching staff is super cool. The way they interact with players when nobody is watching shows they care about everyone — from stars to walk-ons. It’s a really tight brotherhood.”
