The Florida State football program is making a concerted effort to move on from the disappointment of being excluded from last month’s College Football Playoff. According to Hayes Fawcett from On3 Sports, the Seminoles have successfully acquired Terrence Ferguson, a former highly-regarded prospect and offensive lineman from the Alabama Crimson Tide, through the transfer portal.
Last week, Ferguson entered the transfer portal, joining several other departures from the Alabama football team, including cornerback Kristian Story, defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings, linebacker Kendrick Blackshire, and Malik Benson, among others. Additionally, on Wednesday, the Crimson Tide received the news of the retirement of their longtime head coach and six-time champion, Nick Saban.
Terrence Ferguson: Three Years at Alabama Football
Arriving in Tuscaloosa in 2021 as a highly regarded four-star recruit, according to 247Sports, Ferguson had limited playing time during his freshman year, featuring in just one game. In his sophomore season, the six-foot-four, 322-pound offensive lineman saw action in five games, totaling 53 snaps. His notable contribution came during the Sugar Bowl against the Kansas State Wildcats, where he played three late snaps.
Ferguson marked a significant milestone this season by making his first career start against the USF Bulls. In that game, the Crimson Tide gained 203 rushing yards. Following his initial start, Ferguson primarily served as a substitute for the remainder of the season, making appearances against teams such as Ole Miss and Kentucky.
