The Buffalo Bills placed Baylon Spector on injured reserve on Saturday after the backup linebacker sustained a calf injury during practice earlier in the week. Although Spector was initially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, he will now be sidelined for a minimum of four games.
In his third season, Spector made three starts this year in place of Terrel Bernard. When he wasn’t starting, he served as the primary backup to Dorian Williams, who has been stepping in for Matt Milano at the outside linebacker position.
Matt Milano tore his left biceps in August and is not expected to return until early December.
The AFC East-leading Bills (7-2) also elevated wide receivers Tyrell Shavers and K.J. Hamler from their practice squad. Buffalo’s receiving corps may be thin, as rookie Keon Coleman is expected to be out for several weeks due to a wrist injury, and Amari Cooper is listed as questionable for the upcoming game with a left wrist injury.
