The Los Angeles Rams have traded cornerback Tre’Davious White to the Baltimore Ravens, according to a source familiar with the transaction who spoke to The Associated Press. The source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the deal was still being finalized as of Tuesday. In exchange, the Rams will receive a seventh-round pick in 2026, while sending a seventh-round pick in 2027 to the Ravens.
White, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, had an underwhelming tenure with the Rams. After spending seven seasons with the Buffalo Bills, he joined Los Angeles on a one-year, $4.25 million contract. However, he struggled in four games with the Rams in September and was made inactive for the subsequent four games under head coach Sean McVay.
The decision came after cornerback Darious Williams returned from injured reserve, and White found himself lower on the depth chart, behind starters Cobie Durant, veteran Ahkello Witherspoon, and even undrafted rookie Josh Wallace. White has not seen action since September 29 for the 4-4 Rams. McVay acknowledged White’s professionalism, noting that the team didn’t expect to rely on him heavily in the early part of the season.
White’s recent struggles are tied to a knee ligament tear in late 2021 and an Achilles tendon rupture last season. Over the past four years, he has only appeared in 25 games. Now with the Ravens, White will have an opportunity to contribute to a defense that currently ranks last in the NFL in pass defense.
