HUGE BOOST: Alabama looking to finish recruiting class with strong prospects

Alabama has risen to the top of the 2025 recruiting rankings this summer, currently holding the number one spot according to On3. Although they are ranked second by 247Sports, Alabama boasts the highest per-recruit average at 94.67.

The new coaching staff has done an incredible job, and their efforts are ongoing. Kalen DeBoer and his team will continue to recruit aggressively through the December early signing period and beyond.

The next expected addition to Alabama’s class is elite running back AK Dear from Quitman, Mississippi. Both On3 and 247Sports regard Dear as a top-50 overall prospect and a high 4-star recruit with the potential to earn a fifth star. On3 ranks him as the number two running back in the country, while 247Sports lists him as the top RB. Dear, who decommitted from Ole Miss nearly three weeks ago, has been a strong Alabama lean but has kept fans waiting.

Alabama is also pursuing players like elite linebacker Ty Jackson from Florida, and receivers Kaliq Lockett and Derek Meadows. While Bama is less likely to land Lockett and Meadows, the coaching staff appears satisfied with the current receiver lineup.

Despite having four inside linebackers committed, Ty Jackson would be a significant addition due to his impact potential. Jackson’s recruitment is still in the early stages, with no clear favorites, and he is expected to decide in December.

Ty Jackson, Seminole Ridge, Linebacker

DeBoer’s first recruiting class is impressive. Alabama’s 22 commitments include Elite 11 MVP quarterback Keelon Russell, speedy running back Turbo Rogers, two solid wide receivers, a top-10 tight end, and a complete five-man offensive line led by 5-star OT Ty Haywood.

On defense, the class adds depth with two interior linemen, edge rushers Dawson Merritt and Justin Hill, four inside linebackers, and three elite defensive backs. Two top-tier specialists, kicker Peter Notaro and punter Alex Asparuhov, round out the class, leaving little lacking.

The focus will likely shift to retaining these commitments throughout the fall, with on-field success aiding this effort. Whether or not Alabama maintains the top ranking, it is clear they have secured one of the best 2025 recruiting classes in the nation, marked by balance, depth, and top-tier talent. This class will be remembered as Kalen DeBoer’s first in Tuscaloosa and potentially the foundation of a championship team.
