BATON ROUGE – Head Coach Sian Hudson and the LSU Soccer program have announced the addition of Icelandic goalkeeper Auður Scheving to the team for the upcoming 2024 season.
“We are incredibly excited to be adding a player of Audi’s quality and experience to our goalkeeping department,” said Hudson.
“As a goalkeeper, fans can expect to see an athletic shot-stopper with excellent passing range. Along with her on-field talents, she brings character, personality, and a team-first mentality to the locker room.”
Scheving, a native of Reykjavik, Iceland, joins the Tigers after a successful career with Stjarnan FC and the Icelandic National Team.
With international experience, Scheving will enhance the program and provide the Tigers with added depth in goal.
“Her experience at the international and club level in Iceland will be a vital addition to our squad,” Hudson added.
Scheving has made nine international appearances, representing Iceland in the UEFA Women’s Qualifiers from 2018 to 2020, accumulating 798 minutes on the pitch.
In the past two seasons, she has played in over 25 matches for Stjarnan FC in Iceland’s top division.
