The Green Bay Packers have seemingly found their third consecutive franchise quarterback in Jordan Love. While it’s too early to call him the Packers’ third-straight Hall of Fame quarterback, it’s clear that Green Bay has another star at the position.
Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers are the two Hall of Fame talents who preceded Love as the Packers’ starting quarterback. In his first season as a starter, Love posted better numbers than either Favre or Rodgers did in their first seasons with Green Bay:
How Much Will Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Make on His Next Contract Extension?
Although there have been no leaks from the Packers or Love about the specifics of his next contract, examining other recent quarterback contracts can provide some insight into what fans might expect when Love signs his new deal.
The Detroit Lions gave Jared Goff a four-year extension worth $212 million, or $53 million per year, making him the second-highest-paid quarterback in the NFL at the time.
However, the Jacksonville Jaguars then gave Trevor Lawrence a four-year contract worth $220 million, or $55 million per year, tying him with Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals for the highest annual salary in the NFL.
If Lawrence is getting $55 million per season, Love is likely to get more, given his better performance in 2023:

During a youth football camp in Milwaukee, Love was asked about his contract negotiations with the Packers. The Green Bay personnel cut the interview short because reporters were told not to ask about the extension talks. However, before leaving, a smiling Love said, “News coming soon.”
Packers quarterbacks and rookies are set to report for training camp today, and Love has stated he will be there with or without a new contract. Based on his facial expression and body language, it seems he knows a huge payday is coming his way.
