Bryce Fitzgerald is staying put.
The five-star defensive back from Christopher Columbus High School announced his commitment to the University of Miami on Saturday.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Fitzgerald is ranked No. 50 on the USA Today Florida Network top 100 list.
He is the second player to commit to the Hurricanes in two days, following Newberry defensive tackle Mykah Newton, who flipped from N.C. State to Miami on Friday.
Fitzgerald had an exceptional 2023 season, his first with Columbus. He intercepted 10 passes and played a key role in helping the Explorers secure the Class 4M state championship, where he picked off two passes in the title game against Mandarin.
Although Fitzgerald played safety in 2023, he spent most of the spring transitioning to cornerback.
With his commitment, Miami’s 2025 recruiting class now includes 22 players, nine of whom are ranked in the top 100.
