Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark has been in a fierce competition for the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award throughout the season, with her main rival being Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese. In their final rookie-season matchup, the Fever secured a commanding 100-81 victory over the Sky in Chicago. Clark delivered an outstanding performance, recording a career-high 31 points, along with 12 assists and four rebounds. This game boosted her season averages to 18.4 points, 8.3 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game. Clark not only leads all rookies in points per game but also tops the WNBA in assists. Her remarkable rookie season includes five of the highest-scoring games for a first-year player, with three games of 30 or more points.

The Indiana Fever highlighted these impressive stats on social media, declaring, “Caitlin Clark owns them all. Rookie of the Year.”

The Fever have been advocating for Clark to win Rookie of the Year, but Angel Reese remains a significant challenger. Reese has averaged 13.2 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, making her the only rookie with a double-double average and the WNBA leader in rebounds.

In addition to leading Reese in points and assists, Clark has proven to be the more efficient player, shooting 41.9% from the field compared to Reese’s 38.6%. With a few games remaining in the regular season, both rookies have the opportunity to strengthen their cases for the Rookie of the Year award.
