JUST IN: Patriots new signing set to become free agent

New England Patriots offensive tackle Trent Brown’s contract is set to void on Monday, making him a free agent next month. The Patriots will incur a $2 million dead cap hit in 2024 as a result. Brown, aged 30, recently finished his third season with the team, appearing in 11 games with eight starts. This stint with New England marks his second, having previously won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2018.

Throughout his career, Brown has played in 100 games, starting in 93, across stints with the San Francisco 49ers (2015-17), the Raiders (2019-20), and the Patriots. Notably, as a seventh-round pick in the 2015 draft, he has accumulated earnings surpassing $65 million, according to Spotrac.
