The college football season has concluded, leaving many Ohio State fans with a season they’d rather forget, or at least view as a learning experience. Despite the season’s end, the Buckeyes’ coaching staff remains diligently engaged.
Since the onset of the New Year, several Ohio State players have chosen to return for another year instead of exploring opportunities in the NFL Draft. When combined with the highly ranked incoming recruiting class, the Buckeyes are poised to field one of the most formidable rosters in college football.
While Ohio State had essentially finalized its 2024 recruiting class by the end of the Early Signing Period, recent coaching changes have led to a number of recruits de-committing and reopening their recruitment.
The recruiting efforts for Ohio State persist unabated, and once again, the Buckeyes found themselves in the recruiting spotlight on Monday.
Ohio State a top school for 2025 CB
Ohio State’s coaching staff is not solely focused on the upcoming year’s roster; they are actively engaged in recruiting for the 2025 class. With six verbal commitments already secured for the class, the Buckeyes aim to expand on that number at the earliest opportunity.
A promising development occurred on Monday, potentially bringing Ohio State a step closer to securing a commitment from four-star cornerback Mark Zackery (Indianapolis, IN / Ben Davis). He included Ohio State in his top 10 schools, signaling a positive development in the recruitment process.
In addition to Ohio State, Mark Zackery has included Cincinnati, Georgia, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Purdue, Penn State, USC, and Tennessee in his list of top schools.
Zackery has been a target for Ohio State’s recruitment efforts for a considerable period, having received an official offer last summer. His multiple visits to Columbus during the previous season indicate a strong interest. The Buckeyes are actively planning to bring him back on several occasions this year, with the goal of providing him with an in-depth experience of the in-game atmosphere.
