The Cardinals return home to face the Blue Devils, who are one of the top teams in the ACC.
Louisville, Ky. – After experiencing a humiliating defeat at Wake Forest, the Louisville men’s basketball team is looking to bounce back and secure a victory against a formidable ACC opponent, Duke, at the KFC Yum! Center.
In the previous game against the Demon Deacons, the Cardinals struggled defensively, particularly on the perimeter. They permitted Wake Forest to achieve a 50.0 percent shooting accuracy from the field, including 18-of-35 successful three-point attempts. This marked the highest number of three-pointers conceded by UofL under the leadership of head coach Kenny Payne, ultimately resulting in a 90-65 loss.
Regarding the No. 7 Blue Devils, the second year under head coach Jon Scheyer has generally been a success so far. While Duke started the season with a 5-3 record, they followed that with an impressive eight-game winning streak. However, they are entering their game against Louisville on the heels of a recent loss to Pitt.
The upcoming matchup will mark the 23rd meeting between Louisville and Duke, with the Blue Devils holding a 13-9 advantage in the series. Duke has emerged victorious in the last three encounters between the two teams, including a 79-62 win on Feb. 20, 2023, at Cameron Indoor Stadium in their most recent clash.
