Newcastle United Supporters Trust has submitted a request for football regulation following what they deem a ‘disgraceful’ decision in the FA Cup.

Newcastle United fans are expressing strong dissatisfaction as their FA Cup match against Fulham is set for a 7pm kickoff, sparking frustration among supporters. Despite not having reached the fourth round since 2020, the Magpies secured their spot after a 3-0 victory over arch-rivals Sunderland. The upcoming match against Fulham in the capital is scheduled for January 27.

Their recent visit to the capital concluded in disappointment and a cup elimination, with Chelsea defeating Newcastle United on penalties in the Carabao Cup. Now, Eddie Howe’s team is gearing up to face another West London opponent as they strive to bring an end to the club’s 69-year drought without a domestic trophy.

The announcement of ITV’s fourth-round TV schedule has left Newcastle United fans incensed. The revelation that the match will be broadcast on ITV1 at 7 pm has triggered anger, particularly for those planning a 550-mile round trip from the North East, resulting in a late-night return home.

Expressing the prevailing sentiment, one supporter took to social media, stating, “Need to start lodging complaints about these kick-off times. Are supporters expected to stay overnight in extortionate London hotels? (It is) difficult to get the train back at that time of night.”

Another fan deemed the decision a “disgrace,” questioning the necessity of televising the game when alternatives were available. The Newcastle United Supporters Club also criticized the move, urging the impending football regulator to intervene and address the situation.
