Jackson Holliday is being demoted back to the minors.
The Baltimore Orioles announced on Friday that they have sent Holliday down to Triple-A Norfolk.
Holliday made his debut in the major leagues against the Boston Red Sox on April 10. He didn’t get his first career hit until his fourth game on April 14, and that would be one of only two hits for him before being sent back to Triple-A.
Overall, Holliday went just 2-for-34 in 10 games with 5 runs scored. He struck out 18 times and walked twice.

Fans were surprised when the Orioles didn’t include Holliday in their MLB roster at the beginning of the season. Some players were openly upset by the decision. However, the 20-year-old then hit a massive home run in his first at-bat of the year and performed well against Triple-A pitching, with a .342/.490/.605 slash line over nine games.
The Orioles are concerned about Holliday losing confidence, so they have decided to send him back down. However, he could be brought back up later in the year if he performs as well in his second Triple-A stint as he did in his first.
