The Ravens’ decision to trade Odafe Oweh

The Baltimore Ravens’ Week 6 contest against the Los Angeles Rams brought some measurable progress — but no change to a brutal start to the season in the win/loss column. A 17-3 defeat at the hands of the Rams leaves the Ravens at 1-5 and looking to pick up the pieces after a merciful bye week this week.

The Ravens’ decision to trade Odafe Oweh faces even closer scrutiny after Baltimore loses more than just a game in Week 6 loss to the Rams

The Ravens are expected to get healthier, as coach John Harbaugh pointed to after the game. Lamar Jackson should be back. So, too, should Roquan Smith. But Baltimore’s trade this past week is looking like an even bigger gamble for the Ravens’ ability to climb out of this hole. They’ve incurred another loss defensively that will put their post-Odafe Oweh plan under the microscope.

Ravens lose Tavius Robinson to broken foot in loss to Rams

“Yes, it’s not good. Tavius Robinson broke his foot. So, it’s a bad one.”

Robinson’s injury is a tough blow to an already banged up defense. But it’s the immediate proximity to Baltimore’s decision to trade away Odafe Oweh that offers the latest infuriating bounce of the ball to not go the Ravens’ way.

The Ravens could potentially see reinforcements come their way via Adisa Isaac, who suffered a dislocated elbow during the preseason and has spent the season to date on injured reserve. His potential return could see him flip places with Robinson and help keep the roster numbers balanced as Baltimore tries to sort through all of their bumps and bruises.

But Isaac has not yet been designated for return and as a result, there is some uncertainty that lies in this new development. After trading Oweh to the Chargers, the Ravens left themselves a bit lean on the edge. And, like just about everything else so far in 2025 for Baltimore, things went south shortly after.

Baltimore must hope to leave this sour start behind them after the bye week. But they’ll need to do so now without both Oweh and Robinson as pieces of the puzzle.
