While the focus is currently on Peach Jam, five-star Jasper Johnson may soon finalize his recruitment.
Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program are aggressively pursuing the 6-foot-4 guard from Link Academy, who is regarded as a top-10 prospect in the Class of 2025. Davis and his staff were present at Peach Jam to watch Johnson play, demonstrating their strong interest in the left-handed guard.
In a social media post, Joe Tipton of On3 hinted that Johnson’s decision could be imminent, with the race narrowing to three teams: UNC, Alabama, and Kentucky.

Although the Tar Heels have shown significant interest, they may need to catch up in his recruitment. Kentucky might have a slight advantage since Johnson is originally from Woodford County, Kentucky, and transferred to Link Academy last year to enhance his basketball skills. Despite no longer living in Kentucky, he is still considered a homegrown talent by Mark Pope and his staff.

The competition for Jasper Johnson is fierce, as he has the potential to be an immediate star for whichever college program he chooses. Landing Johnson would be a significant achievement for Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program, marking a major addition to the Tar Heels’ 2025 recruiting class.
