However, the former UNC basketball standout has encountered a minor setback in this process due to a recent injury that will sideline him for at least a few days.

During a workout with the Orlando Magic on Sunday, Ingram was inadvertently elbowed in the face, requiring stitches. Consequently, his team decided he should rest for three to five days as a precaution.

Ingram had to miss his pre-draft workout with the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday but still traveled to Indianapolis to observe. Although he couldn’t participate physically, he met with team executives after the session.

The former Tar Heel discussed his injury with the media following the Pacers’ pre-draft workout, providing some details.

While the timing of the injury was unfortunate—no NBA draft prospect wants to miss any competitive opportunities—it’s reassuring that the injury is minor, and Ingram should be back on the court soon.

With numerous pre-draft workouts approaching, it made sense for Ingram and his team to temporarily halt his draft preparation. He will have ample time to return to the court and demonstrate why an NBA team should select him when the draft occurs at the end of the month.
