USC football offers 5-star dazzling talent commitment

USC football continues its recruitment efforts in Florida, targeting standout Javion Hilson from Cocoa (Fla.) High School. Hilson, a consensus Top 50 prospect for the class of 2025, is currently committed to Florida State. Standing at 6-foot-3.5 and weighing 225 pounds, he is ranked No. 41 overall and the No. 3 edge rusher by 247Sports, and No. 31 overall and the No. 1 edge by 247Sports Composite. Hilson’s impressive stats include 97 tackles (27 TFL), 44 QB hurries, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, two pass breakups, and a fumble recovery during his junior season, helping Cocoa High secure a second consecutive 2S Florida state title.

USC’s 2025 recruiting class is currently ranked No. 4 nationally, featuring notable prospects such as five-star quarterback Julian Lewis from Georgia, five-star defensive tackle Justus Terry also from Georgia, and four-star edge rusher Isaiah Gibson. Other recruits include linebacker Matai Tagoa’i from California, safety Hylton Stubbs from Florida, defensive lineman Gus Cordova from Texas, cornerback Trestin Castro from California, and various other three-star prospects from different states.

In addition to Hilson, USC has also offered a scholarship to four-star linebacker Ty Jackson from Loxahatchee (Fla.). Jackson, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 200 pounds, is ranked No. 214 overall and the No. 24 linebacker by 247Sports, and No. 107 overall and the No. 14 linebacker by 247Sports Composite. He showcased his versatility at Seminole Ridge with 135 tackles, four forced fumbles, two sacks, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery, along with contributions on offense with 15 receptions for 257 yards and five touchdowns.

Meanwhile, coveted four-star wide receiver CJ Wiley from Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton is actively considering his options with official visits planned to USC, Georgia, LSU, and Florida State. He recently added USC to his visit schedule, with Auburn already receiving an official visit. Texas A&M remains in contention as well.

The college football recruiting landscape for the class of 2025 is vibrant, with Texas A&M, Oregon, and Notre Dame emerging as prominent recruiters. UCLA, under new head coach Deshaun Foster, is regaining momentum in recruiting after a lull under Chip Kelly. Huffman and Loy also discussed recent developments regarding USC’s Julian Lewis and offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd. Lewis, despite being committed to USC, is considered a potential flip candidate.
